Lands hard

Succession’s Jesse Armstrong turns his satirical surgical focus to a different strata of global villains - the tech sector. Holed up in a mountain lair and modelled on Musk, Thiel etc., the comedy is claustrophobic, but the scale global - its many punches landing hard in our present day.

Steve Newall

"Lean, topical and a fine platform for its actors."

Associated PressAssociated Press

"But at least it’s something, the slightest of pushes back against the people trying so offhandedly to grind us into soylent."

Vanity FairVanity Fair

"Darkly funny as it descends into farce and ends on a chilling final note."

Empire MagazineEmpire Magazine

"The dialogue is gloriously delusional and exhilaratingly obscene."

Time MagazineTime Magazine

"The sense of right-here-right-now can lend the satire real sting."

Financial TimesFinancial Times

"...an exquisite modern satire."

IndependentIndependent

"The pure density of weapons-grade zingers in the script is a marvel."

The GuardianThe Guardian

"The best moments capture the breathtaking arrogance of this way of seeing the world without making its characters seem cartoonish."

TV GuideTV Guide

"If you come solely for the comedic stylings of four powerhouse actors, Mountainhead will certainly win you over if you don't take it too seriously."

ColliderCollider

"Another acid-singed comedy about a slightly different subset of 0.01 percenters."

Slant MagazineSlant Magazine

"It’s certainly entertaining enough while you’re watching it, thanks to the expert performances of its four lead actors."

Hollywood ReporterHollywood Reporter

"Captures the privilege run amok, while the finely honed cast know that the laughs have to feed off the horror their toxic characters fuel."

The AgeThe Age

"Generates a decent amount of laughs, but it’s best when Armstrong puts satire aside for rage, seething at the tech kingpins destroying our society..."

A.V. ClubA.V. Club

"The constant toxicity is wearisome, the characters veer from utterly repellent to stupidly cartoonish..."

The TimesThe Times

"Never comes close to achieving the high-wire act that enshrined “Succession” in the pantheon of great TV shows: making us like those characters."
